20 more minutes

until I can go pick up my Evelina from her first day at KINDERGARTEN! I have been nervous all day long. She was such a "big girl" this morning, walking into the door with her "boekentas" (backpack, new of course and hyped up by us!), and so excited until.... we had to leave. Then the floodgates opened and we had to be the mean parents, walking away from our crying child. I was screaming much harder on the inside than Evelina was vocally and with tears. All I could do was hope that all the new toys and activities would demand her focus and attention so that she would forget we left her there. I will find out soon.

And the pics and report of the Halloween party are coming too.

Poor Evelina!!! She will make it, and love it before long! Makes me want a new boekentas - does Prada make those??

Just like her cousin. He cried every day for a year when I left him at day care. Come to think of it, he was just Evelina's age at the time. I'm told he stopped after five or ten minutes or so and he always seemed happy enough when I came back to pick him up at the end of the day. But those first few minutes every morning were excruciating. He loves going to school now, though.
